 pretty cool right? I had a lot of fun with this recipe because the flavor combo was totally new to me. As we know, there’s a cherry chai drink that’s been trending at Starbucks—but I was curious to try it out with our bold, authentic masala chai blend.

This DIY Iced Cherry Chai Latte combines the bold spices of our signature masala chai blend—free from added sugars, milk powders, or preservatives—with sweet dark cherries, a hint of almond, and a creamy cherry cold foam. Topped with a floral sprinkle of cardamom rose, it’s a refreshing and Instagram-worthy summer drink recipe you can feel good about.

Whether you're a chai lover, a homemade drink enthusiast, or just in the mood for something sweet and fruity, this recipe is fun, flavorful, and easy to customize with your favorite sweetener and milk or plant based alternative. And the best part? It’s super simple to make at home with just a few pantry staples.

The way I drank this down in a matter of seconds! The sweet, fruity notes of cherry, with that hint of almond, mixed in with our chai spices—It’s a match up that’s so balanced and refreshing. This is a great recipe for those who like it sweet! But the nice thing is, everything is customizable to your preferences. 

Mika's go-to: Soy milk and 2 tablespoons of cherry syrup.

*In this recipe Mika used Blue Lotus Chai's Traditional Masala Chai, but you can use whatever variety of Blue Lotus Chai you'd like.

Homemade Cherry Syrup

(Makes 4 Servings)

This simple cherry syrup adds a sweet-tart burst of flavor that pairs perfectly with the bold spices in Blue Lotus Chai.

Ingredients

  • œ cup frozen (or fresh) dark sweet cherries
  • œ cup water
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar (or sub coconut sugar, maple syrup, honey, etc.)
  • ÂŒ tsp almond extract

Instructions

  1. Combine cherries, water, and sugar in a small saucepan. Simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, until the cherries are soft and the syrup slightly thickens.
  2. Gently mash the cherries, then strain the syrup into a clean jar.
  3. Stir in almond extract and refrigerate until cool.

 

Iced Cherry Chai Latte

(Single Serving)

This is summer in a glass: bold masala chai, creamy milk, and a hint of fruit and floral.

Ingredients

  • ÂŒ tsp Blue Lotus Chai powder
  • 4 oz hot water
  • 4 oz milk of choice (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1–2 Tbsp cherry syrup (to taste)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Whisk Blue Lotus Chai into hot water until fully dissolved.
  2. Add cold milk and stir. Chill for a few minutes if you’d like it extra cold.
  3. In a glass, add 1–2 tablespoons of cherry syrup and plenty of ice.
  4. Pour the chilled chai mixture over the top.


Cherry Cold Foam Topping

Add a cozy, café-style touch with this naturally sweet cherry cold foam.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp cherry syrup
  • 2 oz milk of choice

Instructions

  1. Froth the cherry syrup and milk using a frother or whisk until thick and foamy.
  2. Spoon on top of your iced chai.
  3. Finish with a sprinkle of Metolius Tea's Cardamom Rose Garnish
