After testing 49 different chai blends, including tea bags, concentrates, loose-leaf, and powders, The Spruce Eats awarded Blue Lotus Chai top marks in the powdered category for its bold flavor, purity of ingredients, and ease of preparation.

Led by chai expert and cookbook author Annelies Zijderveld, the selection process focused on flavor complexity, spice balance, ease of preparation, and respect for chai’s cultural origins. Only 13 teas made the final list.
