Hana Lily – Lunar Honey Ceramics
Hana’s truly unique and exquisite handcrafted mugs are featured on our site. We are also excited that soon we will be sharing with Blue Lotus Chai’s extended family and friends a special limited series of her mugs. You can find Hana’s work on Instagram and Facebook. Here’s what Hana has to say about her work:
Pottery is an intimate experience. The vessels that we eat and drink from are a significant part of our lives. We hold them with our hands, touch them with our mouths, and they occupy space in our homes. I hold this idea with me as I create, imagining the pots as vessels of nourishment for their user.
I originally fell in love with creating pottery in a small pottery village in the mountains of South Korea. I was enamored by the lifestyle of my teacher: throwing on the wheel, decorating the vessels, drinking tea, and eating from pots that she created. When I decided to settle in the Pacific Northwest I was delighted to find and become a part of the prolific ceramic community here. I started taking classes in Eugene and in a short time was selling my work at the Saturday Market.
My style is always evolving but it maintains an earthy aesthetic. I’m inspired by plants and animals and patterns of nature. I believe in the importance of incorporating more beauty into our lives and sometimes this is as simple as a handmade mug. It is a true honor to create pieces that become a part of people’s daily rituals.
Judi Lamb – Northwest Exposures
Judi’s photography is featured throughout our site. Her gentle spirit and keen eye have been a pleasure to work with and captured some beautiful images. You can find her work on her website. Here’s what Judi has to say about herself:
I'm Judi, the owner and lead photographer at Northwest Exposures Photography. We're celebrating 14 years in business this year! Our niche is versatility. We love working with people and collaborating on ideas for all types of photography. We're full service, offering both studio and on-site location sessions. Spontaneous moments... timeless photographs.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado I’ve spent over half my life in Oregon. I’m inspired by Regionalist artists, Beat writers, road trips, life stories, ghost towns and the stories behind them. I love warm summer evenings, being active, hot baths, hot chai, and street photography. My favorite love song is Paul Simon's Bernadette. I dislike insincerity, hoses that kink, and stepping in a puddle of water in socks.
